If the book is due because it has reached the end of its regular loan period, you have three options to renew your book. You may renew as many times as necessary until you return from vacation and can physically return the book.:

  • Renew your book online using USC Libraries' My Account feature
  • Call the Doheny Library circulation desk (213-740-2924) to have library staff renew your book
  • Email library customer service (dmlnotes@usc.edu) to have staff renew your book

If the book is due because it has been recalled while you are away, your only option to avoid fines would be to mail the book to the Doheny Library. Library staff will credit your return based on the postmark date of the package.

NOTE: Because any book may be recalled at any time, and because each hold represents a legitimate need for the book by another borrower, we advise returning all books before traveling for extended periods of time. Please consult our Access & Borrowing Policies regarding recalls for more information.
