Hinomoto Bunko (library), one of the three affiliated libraries of Tenri Central Library, was established in 1954 to encourage Japanese studies outside Japan on the site of the Tenrikyo Mission Headquarters in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. Since then, the collection has grown 40,000 volumes and served the general public including students and scholars of Japanese studies in Los Angeles.

The USC Libraries now preserves and provides access to the 30,000 volumes of the original Hinomoto collection. For more information, please see this Research Guide.
