Borrowing privileges vary depending on the user.

All current full time USC students, faculty, staff and Professor Emeritus have a check-out limit of 200 books. Regular materials are due at the end of academic semester.

Alumni and retired staff or faculty have a check-out limit of 20 books with a 4 week loan period.

DVDs and other special materials (reserves, reference, etc.) have shorter loan periods. If you have any questions on how long you may borrow a particular book, please consult with library staff at the circulation desk.

Non-USC users may receive borrowing privileges if they fall into certain categories. These categories can include Friends of the Libraries donors, sponsored guests, visiting scholars, summer program participants, high school students, individual or corporate fee borrowers, and approved members of affiliated institutions. Please consult the NON-USC tab of the Access & Borrowing Policies page for more information about these account types.
