Growing costs for library materials are a significant challenge for many university libraries, as annual price increases for journals, databases, and similar resources—often 5% or more—have consistently outpaced overall U.S. inflation measures for many years now.
To mitigate against these challenges and ensure financial sustainability, the USC Libraries have had to make careful decisions about renewals of our journal and database subscriptions.
The USC Libraries recently created a Library Collections FAQ page to answer questions you may have about our journal and database subscriptions and your options for accessing the library materials you need for your studies, research, or teaching.
The page includes an updated list of the databases, journals, and other library resources that have been impacted by our recent decisions about subscription renewals.
We are committed to providing you with the resources you need. Please reach out at any time through our Ask-a-Librarian service for help locating materials.
