Course content in ARES is accessible on the first day of the semester.  We follow USC’s Academic Calendar to determine activation dates.  ARES automatically deactivates courses at the semester end date.

USC's academic calendar can be reviewed here:

https://academics.usc.edu/calendar/

If you are an instructor and need your course activated earlier and/or deactivated at a later date, please contact us at idd@usc.edu

Please Note:  distance-based or online programs such as the Social Work VAC do not follow traditional academic schedules.  If you are teaching an online course with different start and end dates, please contact us after you create your course in ARES so we can adjust the activation and deactivation dates as soon as possible.

Although instructors can select start and stop dates (ie. viewable to non-viewable) for individual e-reserve items, the activation and deactivation dates can only be set by ARES staff.
